2025 aNNUAL gIVING
Your generosity is a beacon of hope in the relentless fight against women's cancers. As the year closes, we look back not just on our foundation's efforts, but on the profound, life-changing impact of your compassion and commitment.
Every action we take is rooted in the memory of Laura, and in her mission to help women diagnosed with the same cancer she was. And every success this year— every moment of hope—is a direct reflection of your belief in that mission.
Because you opened your heart last year, we achieved things that truly matter:
You Funded Future Answers: Your trust allowed us to direct resources toward cutting-edge research, accelerating the search for screening and early detection.
You Educated Thousands: Your gift expanded our awareness efforts, reaching women all around the state with the critical, life-saving knowledge of early symptoms—giving them the power to recognize the signs before it's too late.
You Provided Comfort & Stability: Your support offered financial and emotional aid directly to families thrown into crisis by a diagnosis, giving them a moment of peace and one less burden to carry during the most difficult time imaginable.
We celebrate these victories alongside you. But the heartbreaking reality remains: for every life touched, another family is receiving a life-altering diagnosis today. The mission is far from complete, and our progress is fragile.
The Lifeline Depends on Your Generosity
Our foundation must be a constant, unwavering lifeline for those in need. The only thing standing between these families and the overwhelming fear of facing this battle alone is the sustained strength of the community you help build. The demand for our educational resources, support groups, and patient grants grows every single year.
Today, we humbly ask you to summon that same incredible spirit of generosity once again. Please renew the sacred commitment you made to the women and families who desperately need our immediate help. Your annual contribution is more than a donation; it is the gift of strength, presence, and hope.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being the beacon of hope for women in need.

“ Annie’s Story”
“Annie” is one of the most memorable individuals I have encountered during my time as Programs Director at the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation. She initially connected with our organization through a Patient Assistance Application for car repairs. While speaking to her about her application, I encouraged her to attend our CanSurvive meeting later that week. She was hesitant at first, but when Friday came she was the first to arrive. I was thrilled to finally meet her in person!
As the other ladies arrived, they each introduced themselves and we gathered for lunch. During our check-in time, Annie shared information about her diagnosis and the progress of her treatment, and she expressed gratitude for being part of the group. That afternoon she was the last person to leave the meeting. As I was packing up, Annie approached me, gave me a big hug, and thanked me for inviting her to attend.
From that moment on, Annie was at every CanSurvive event without fail. She always wanted to know how she could help or volunteer at the office. Several times she helped me make patient bags, and when she learned about the Woman to Woman program, she immediately volunteered to be trained as a mentor. It was like that was meant to be because the very next mentee application I got was a perfect match for her. I introduced the ladies, and they began a journey together over the next 2 years that was truly special. They developed a deep friendship and continued their relationship long after the mentee had finished her treatment.
Annie was involved in LCBF in every way that she could be! She helped in the survivor tent at the race, she served as a mentor for Woman to Woman, she accepted proclamations in September, she came to the CanSurvive meetings, and she even attended our Taste of Teal Gala. She was so thankful to have found the friendships and support that LCBF offers to survivors and truly celebrated every day of her life after cancer.
When Annie was told that her cancer had returned, it really shook her.
Several of the survivors in our group kept in contact with her through her treatment. But this time didn’t go as well as the first. Her passing left a huge hole in our group that was used to her smiles, her positive attitude, and her genuine care for others.
“I still think about her often. I know that our paths were meant to cross. Annie was truly an inspiration. Yes, she received support from us, but she gave so much more to LCBF! This story and countless others just like it are why we come to work every day. ”
