Calendar Girl

Looking Back

Next Tuesday, December 14th will mark the first anniversary of Laura's death.  Lately I have been anxious with dread about this day and wonder how I will make it through it.  I have been reliving the days of last year as Laura's condition slowly got worse and she realized she would not make it through the holidays.  And then, I stop and as I have always done lately (mostly to keep my sanity) and try to concentrate on the positive!I look back over the last year...

Consigning for Cancer

The yard sale divas are already getting geared up for the next foundation yard sale that we are planning for sometime in mid-October.  Donations have already been streaming in and we are busy sorting and storing the goods.  Since the last yard sale, I have discovered another wonderful source to help with the foundation's fundraising.  We have a friend who is an owner in a new consignment boutique called Renaissance-  She graciously agreed to set up an account for the foundation...

Cancer Talk

My thoughts and ideas about cancer have, of course, changed over the past two years.  I got to see cancer "up close and personal".  Since cancer is not in my family's medical history, nor Jim's, we never really knew what fighting cancer was like.  Someone recently said to me that it was unfortunate that I had learned so much about cancer treatment and research the way that it was forced on us.  You do learn alot about this horrible disease, but you also really realize how the...
