A Mother's Story Told by Cecilia Crandall
The May 2011 issue of 280 Living brings to light the beautiful story of Laura Crandall Brown and her relationship with her mom, Cecilia. Our thanks to Kathryn Acree and Madoline Markham for telling this story so beautifully and for helping to raise awareness to our mission and cause. You can read the full story by clicking here.
Laura Crandall met Newnan's Walter Brown while they were working together at a hotel/ conference center in Auburn, Ala.
Before long the two knew they were meant for each other and were engaged to be married in November 2008.
Two months before the wedding, Laura became ill. The couple decided not to let a frightening diagnosis derail their plans and the wedding went on as scheduled.
Thirteen months after she was married, Laura Crandall Brown passed away from ovarian cancer. In a Web site dedicated to her memory and to raising funds and awareness to combat the disease ( www.thinkoflaura.org ), Laura Brown describes her battle with cancer.
