Laura Crandall met Newnan's Walter Brown while they were working together at a hotel/ conference center in Auburn, Ala.

Before long the two knew they were meant for each other and were engaged to be married in November 2008.

Two months before the wedding, Laura became ill. The couple decided not to let a frightening diagnosis derail their plans and the wedding went on as scheduled.

Thirteen months after she was married, Laura Crandall Brown passed away from ovarian cancer. In a Web site dedicated to her memory and to raising funds and awareness to combat the disease ( www.thinkoflaura.org ), Laura Brown describes her battle with cancer.

Feature story on Megan Crane - Dress Designed for Laura

Megan Crane is a young designer on staff at Judith March Fashion Designs. Megan's mom, Kim, is very active in the Foundation's activities, most especially with the Taste of Teal event held in November.

Megan was inspired by Laura's story and decided to design a special dress benefiting the Foundation. 

Megan was recently interviewed by the Over the Mountain Journal. Read the story that led to this young women's inspiration to create such a beautiful design.

Reynolds supporting foundation fundraiser golf event

At this golf tournament, your swing or handicap doesn't matter. The goal is having a good time for a good cause and raising funds to fight a dreaded disease.

As a bonus, you get to meet a rising star on the ladies' golf tour.

Jean Reynolds, Newnan's contribution to the Ladies Professional Golf Association's (LPGA) Tour, has invited everyone to join her Monday, April 19, at Newnan Country Club for the first charity golf tournament to support the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
